NATIONAL STRING QUILT
​MONTH!

STRING QUILTING - With Tammy and Bambi
Classes held every Monday in January, 2025.  Come for 1 session or all 4.  
10 am to 4 pm - January 6, 13, 20, and 27
What's a STRING QUILT?  ​String quilts are quilts made from fabric scraps that are sewn onto a foundation.    Depending on the pattern chosen, the foundation can become a part of the quilt design (your fabric of choice) or entirely covered with “strings” (muslin). 
STRING QUILTS WITH A FOCUS FABRIC FOUNDATION
Each of the 3 string quilts below were made using the same pattern.  The use of a patterned or solid foundation fabric gives each quilt a different look.  

STRING QUILTS WITH A muslin FOUNDATION

The string quilts shown below were made with a muslin foundation.  The muslin is covered entirely with "strings".   ​
This class will show you different ways of putting your string blocks together.  choose the technique you like best and make your own one-of-a-kind STRING QUILT.

blooming 9 patch

Thursday January 9, 2025 - 10 am to 4 pm
The Blooming 9 Patch is made from beginner blocks, squares, and nine patch blocks that are set on point.  Part of the magic of this pattern is how the fabric appears to blend together in some of the rows.  It's fun to learn how your fabric choices can lead to more or less fabric blending.

The PATCHES Beginning Quilting class takes you from introduction to the quilting world to a completed quilt. This class (6 classes) is designed to walk you through the entire process. Haven't sewn since high school? Want to make that first baby quilt? Quilting is a journey that can be enjoyed throughout your life. We'd love to help you get started and share our expertise with you!

This is a one-on-one course that moves at your pace and at your convenience.
